Llyn Crafnant
A true beauty spot, Llyn Crafnant is set in a tranquil Welsh valley where the northern edge of the Gwydir Forest meets the lower slopes of the Carneddau range. The lake is nearly a mile long, covers 63 acres and offers superb views. It derives its name from the Welsh words for garlic 'craf' and 'nant' a stream.
Llyn Crafnant can be reached by car only from the village of Trefriw, where the Afon Crafnant meets the River Conway. The Forestry Commision provide a car park and toilets. Around a mile away lies another lake, Llyn Geirionydd which runs parallel to Llyn Crafnant and is often approached from Capel Curig.
